Shanxi (help·info) (Chinese: 山西; pinyin: Shānxī; Wade-Giles: Shan-hsi; Postal map spelling: Shansi) is a province in the northern part of the People's Republic of China. Its one-character abbreviation is Jin (晋 pinyin jìn), after the state of Jin that existed here during the Spring and Autumn Period. The name Shanxi literally means "mountain's west", which refers to the province's location west of the Taihang Mountains. Shanxi borders Hebei to the east, Henan to the south, Shaanxi to the west, and Inner Mongolia to the north. The capital of the province is Taiyuan. From Wikipedia under the

China! Answered by Poison - Wed Jan 23 10:52:01 2008 Going to China for a month and need to buy a new camera!? Q. In less than three weeks I'll be going to stay in Beijing at a University for three weeks to take classes. The forth week I'll be traveling around Northern China and looking at several cities within the Shaanxi and Shanxi provinces including Pingyao and Xi'an. There will be some bike rides but the most of it will be walking and public transportation. I need to buy a camera since my old one broke and right now I'm looking at the Nikon D40, Nikon D60, or the Canon PowerShot SD780 IS. Any opinions on the matter? I'm a bit torn between the SLR type and the point and shoot type cameras. And then some, for accessories, etc. Would you carry around your DSLR and all its accessories? If you're not willing to lug around a heavy, large DSLR and its lenses, don't get one. Don't rely solely on a DSLR to… [cont.] Answered by Kite - Thu Apr 9 00:26:03 2009 a new gold mine yet to be explored?
