Shijiazhuang (simplified Chinese: 石 家 庄; pinyin: Shí jiā zhuāng) is a prefecture-level city and the capital of Hebei province, China. It is about 280 km (170 mi) south of Beijing. Shijiazhuang contains the Shijiazhuang metropolitan area, the Jingxing Mining District, five county-level cities, and twelve counties. Shijiazhuang is a newly industrialized city. It experienced dramatic growth after the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949. The population of the urban core has more than quadrupled in only 30 years It is a central hub of transportation routes. Q. I'm thinking of enrolling in the Mandarin China Program that my school offers. I'm a junior now, but in my senior year from Oct.2-31st it would require me to live with a host family in Shijiazhuang,Hebei,PR China and study the culture while studying my other courses online. The people are nice and hospitable, but rare of them can speak English. Teens there should be more bashful compare with westen teens. About shopping, not too much fashion goods there.
